About the Founder
Meet the Founder
I’m Emma, also known as Umm Saad, the founder of Mukhawar London.
Born in the UK and raised in Dubai, I spent more than two decades surrounded by Emirati heritage, family traditions and the quiet elegance of Gulf life. Those years shaped how I understand modesty, femininity and the meaning clothing can carry.
Why I Founded Mukhawar London
The mukhawar has always felt like more than a dress to me. Its flowing silhouette, detailed embroidery and effortless comfort hold memories of home, family gatherings and celebrations.
I founded Mukhawar London to share this piece of Emirati heritage with women in the UK and around the world. Our mukhawar dresses honour their cultural roots while feeling relevant, comfortable and beautiful in modern life.
A Journey Between Dubai and the UK
Dubai was my home and wonderland for over two decades. It was where I built businesses, formed lifelong friendships and learned how creativity can bring people together.
My journey has included creating jewellery, curating artisan pieces and supporting British-Arab businesswomen. Across every chapter, the same purpose has remained: to create, connect and uplift.
Returning to the UK felt like a homecoming with a new perspective. Mukhawar London became a way to carry the beauty, generosity and sense of community I experienced in Dubai into something meaningful here.
I am deeply grateful to my husband for sharing his heritage with me and walking beside me throughout this journey.
More Than a Dress
Mukhawar London is for every woman who finds strength in softness, confidence in modesty and joy in clothing that tells a story.
Each collection is created with respect for heritage and with the belief that fashion can carry meaning, connect cultures and give something back.
This is my invitation to discover the mukhawar - not simply as something to wear, but as a celebration of heritage, comfort and quiet confidence.
